What is the best way to remove unwanted facial hair without causing major pain or losing skin?

This applies to both eyebrows and a "stache" that I was lucky enough to inherit from my Grandma. (Thanks Nana!)

WHAT IS THREADING?

Threading is the hottest, most-talked about method of hair removal. It is a cheap and traditional Indian hair removal technique that uses only a 100 % cotton thread. This can be done to shape the eyebrows or remove unwanted hair from the upper lip area, chin, sides of face, or the whole face etc.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

100% cotton thread is twisted and rolled along the surface of the skin. This traps the hair between the cotton threads, which are then lifted out from the root. It is more precise than waxing or tweezing because it can remove as little as one hair or as many as is required.

HOW LONG BEFORE HAIR RETURNS?

Depending on your hair type anywhere between 2 - 8 weeks. Many clients claim that regular threading results in a finer hair growth. This is because the hair is pulled from the root, and in time weakens it. For the hairs to grow back, you don閳ユ獩 have to wait as long as you would for waxing. Before waxing hairs need to be at least 2/8" in length, whereas for threading they need to be about 1/8" in length sometimes even less!

HOW DOES IT AFFECT THE SKIN? IS IT PAINFUL?

Threading is milder than other facial hair removal methods such as waxing or depilatory creams. It is less painful than waxing! The skin might become a little red temporarily but only a slight pinch is felt as a relatively large area is covered quickly each time. Many devotees claim that they hardly feel any pain. Unlike waxing and creams, skin irritation is avoided as the top layer of dead skin is not stripped off or subjected to harsh chemicals in the process. Since the hair is removed from the root during threading, you don閳ユ獩 get ingrown hairs. Facial skin, especially around the eyes is too thin and delicate for waxing and can lead to wrinkles.

THE ORIGINS OF THREADING

Threading is beginning to gain popularity in the USA, however this technique has been around for thousands of years. The history of threading is not clear, with some claiming it began in the Middle East, India, or China. The technique of threading is usually handed down from generation to generation. There are very few places in the USA that offer courses on threading. In the USA salons performing it can be usually found in the Indian neighborhoods.

I don't think tweezing is so terrible. You get used to it.

There's also waxing.

Waxing. It stings but it works much better than, say, Nair creme. Plucking works too but it takes longer and you can pinch your skin grabbing the little hairs, which hurts. Find a local salon/day spa/beauty parlor and try a wax, it should be about $20 for both those areas, and the hair won't grow back in for easily 3-4 weeks. Your mileage may vary depending on your genes! It's like taking off a Band-aid, really, and if you do it a few times it hurts less each time. I hear eventually the hairs will stop growing in as much, but I've never experienced that myself... maybe you'll be one of those lucky ones.

Also, a good waxer will Not take off any skin, despite what you may hear. The trick is finding someone who does it a lot, if the wax is just the right temp it won't burn you, but it will be most effective in taking out all those little facial hairs that are so frustrating.

LASAIR HAIR REMOVAL.

This is permanant. I don't know about the stache...but it worked great for my brows and arm pits, and brazil area.

It takes about a year to permanently get rid of the hair. You should have montly visits that cost $50-$100 %26lt;depending on the area you're having worked on%26gt;. The dermatologist %26lt;skin doctor%26gt; should be able to get you "Num-Num" cream and you apply this 1 hour before the zapping %26lt;a lazer zapps the hair and folical...the folical is where the hair is reborn...if this is permanantly destroyed, no more hair%26gt;.

NEVER WAX!!! NEVER WAX!!! NEVER WAX!!!

Waxing causes the hair folical to split and reproduce... this causes the bad hair to get real bushy.

Nair has stuff you can use for your face. It's not strong and will wipe the facial hair right off. Walmart should carry it. If not Nair, Sally Henson has some great stuff also.

I use cream hair remover for the face. You can get it at any drug store.
