Hair problem...please let me know whats up?

I notice that suring the change of seasons I start losing hair (more than normal) and I get dandruff. I have been using the same shampoo. What can be causing this? Does this happen to you also?

Is it bad that I wash my hair everyday?

Please share with me your personal experience or information you read somewhere...i would greatly appreciate it. Thank you :)

It is better to wash your hair every other day, but that really isn't the problem. When seasons change so should your skin and hair regime because winter takes a lot of moisture from your skin and scalp. Try more moisture, Paul Mitchell -Tea Tree - Hair and Scalp Treatment might help.

You could have sebhorriec dermatitis. In babies it is referred to as cradle cap. My sister has it and has the same symptoms as you do. Especially during season changes. The only thing that she has found to fix it is buying all natural hair products with no toxins in them. She had to join a product club called Maleleuca to clear hers up. There is no "cure" but you can't tell now that she has it!! If you want to check it out just go to their website maleleuca.com. If you aren't interested you could try to find a similar product (the secret is tea tree oil) that can be found in any health store like GNC)

If the dandruff happens when it's cold, that's normal. Your scalp is like your skin. When it gets colder out, your skin gets drier. I personally wash my hair every other day b/c it's so thick. It's actually healthier that way too b/c your not stripping all of the oils out of your hair (you need some of them). Also, try switching shampoos. Your hair tends to get "used" to what your using, so switching up actually gives hair a boost b/c it's something different. Hope this helps. Oh, and Garnier makes this 3-minute hair masque that you put on after you shampoo, it's awesome for hydrating your hair and scalp. :)

1 - You need to make sure you rinse your hair thoroughly.

2 - Use a conditioner, and make sure that it gets down to your scalp.

3 - Don't blow dry your hair until it is bone dry. Let it finish drying in the air.

4 - Buy a better shampoo. You do get what you pay for.

I wash my hair everyday.Make sure you use a really good conditioner. It doesn't hurt to use a hot oil treatment once a week either. If your hair continues to fall out and gets dry and brittle, you might want to consult your doctor. This can be a sign of thyroid disease

don't worry.....this is normal during the change of seasons.....hot oil treatments and some mild conditioners can work wonders......and well just take care of the dandruff coz if it increases then it's gonna be horrible...........for the dandruff you can use some mild anti-dandruff shampoo.........

I get the same problem with my skin, hair and scalp during the winter. It is because central heating dries my skin out. I always turn to using a creamy shampoo (like dove) or an anti dandruff shampoo that moisturizes the scalp during the winter.

My daughter has sebhorriec dermatitis.I had tried all kinds of dandruff shampoos on her before taking her to the doctor about it.Her doctor recommended using Denorex extra strength shampoo twice a week and her condition has cleared up.
