My cat is itchy and is losing patches of hair , he does not have mange or we would have it what coul

Your cat could have a few things. One thing could be flea allergies. Do you see scabby things on her? Look for fleas too, if you see a lot of fleas and the scabs very well could be flea allergy. If this is the case I would suggest going and getting advantage or frontline and maybe bathing the cat with an aloe shampoo.

2nd thing....have you changed foods lately? It could be a food allery as well some foods have a lot of dyes in them and filler products that can result in food allergies which makes the hair fall out, check the ears are they black and gunky this is a sign of food allergies as well as flaky bald skin. You need to change the food either go back to what you were feeding or try a hypo allerginic food suck as duck and potato the pet shop can tell you of some good ones.

3rd very well could be ring worm, which can be treated. You will need to go the vet and get an antifungal. They have pills or a topical that can be applied directly to the infected skin

My cat had this problem before she passed away this year. She was having a bad reaction to something. I took her to the vet and they gave her a shot. She got better for a while then started having problems with it again and I took her back for another shot. Worked again. Most likey its just something like that. Your best bet is to take him to a vet. Thats what they are there for. Good luck and I hope he gets better.

Oh and no my cat didnt die for being itchy and losing hair there was something else wrong with her after all of that.

Not sure what it is, but not all types of mange transfer to humans, so it could still be that. I would have the cat checked to make sure. An obvious reason could be fleas. The cat stcratching for the fleas all of the time will cause the hair to fall out where it's scratching.

Your cat might have an overactive thyroid. Especially an older cat. It's easy to diagnose - just need a blood test.
