I just adopted a dog from the humane society whom they said was a black lab/golden retriever mix. (she is long haired) I got her in Feb. when it was cold and she did not shed. In the last two months I have filled 3 garbage bags full with the hair she has shed and it just keeps falling out. she is on a cheaper brand of food then before...could diet be the cause, illness, just the season? Any solutions?

It's likely just the season.
How old is she? It could be her age because alot of dogs go through a stage where they loose their puppy hair and get harder adult hair. At this time, big clumps of hair can come out.
When my golden retriever lost her puppy hair, we filled bags and bags of hair. She looses alot when the seasons change to.
I wouldn't worry about it, but if you are concerned, then take her to a vet just to get checked out.

It is just losing its winter coat.My two dogs,cat,and rabbits are doind that too.No concern!:):):):):):)
