I would say put her on a really good dog food with no corn, wheat, or anything. A natural dog food. And have it checked for allergies,my neigbors dog had horrible skin allergies to somthing in the air and the poor thing was loosing almost all of his hair and scratching constantly. Good luck.

Have you got her on a very good food? Check her food and if their is corn or wheat or soy she may have an allergy to these things and she is scratching because of the fillers in the food.

Try to switch her food to something a bit healthier.

I recomend Canidae. All natural no by products or fillers like corn or wheat and soy. Also has never been involved in any of the recalls.

She might have hot spots, if so she will scratch her skin raw....you might find medicine in a pet store.....but i would take her to the vet, just to make sure.

Hair loss in dogs, cats and ferrets have many causes. Some hair loss in dogs cats and ferrets is due to scratching while in other cases the hair just falls out. In some cases the hair of dogs cats and ferrets becomes brittle and breaks off. Endocrine gland disease can also account for hair loss in dogs cats and ferrets. A thorough veterinary examination is necessary to determine the cause of hair loss in dogs cats and ferrets. Sometimes a microscopic exam of a skin scraping will determine why there is hair loss in dogs cats and ferrets. Some times bacterial cultures of the skin are required to diagnose hair loss in dogs cats and ferrets.

Hair loss is one of the most common problems that bring dogs and cats and ferrets to my animal hospital. There are an enormous number of reasons for hair lossWhen a pet with this problem enters my office, I make a few simple observations and ask a few simple questions. Is this a young or an old pet? What breed is it? How long has the problem been present and has it occurred before. If so, how was it diagnosed and treated the last time? Is it a single patch or on various areas? Is it on the body itself or on the face or limbs? Is the hair missing or broken or chewed off short? Is the area itchy to the pet? Is the hairless area raw and inflamed? Is it dry and crusty? Are the areas a particular shape?

1) Flea-associated dermatitis

2) Canine and Feline Atopy

3) Pyotraumatic Dermatitis (Hot Spots)

4) Demodectic and Sarcoptic Mange

5) Ringworm

6) Nervous or Stress/Boredom Induced dermatitis

7) Food Allergies

I recommend taking your pet to the vet. Good Luck!

Is she blue? It might be color dilute alopecia. Either of her parents blue?

There are recipes online that tell you how to keep a coat on your Doberman.. If it's due to the blue problem.

But you have to feed a Doberman quality food.. They are a breed that if they are eating garbage, you can see it very quickly, losing their coat, or dry flaky skin, or oily looking skin.. Feed her something really good and get her the Omega 3 oil capsules.. Don't bath her at all if you can get away with it.. They don't get dirty and smelly if they are eating a good food.. Unless they roll in something they really don't need to be bathed at all..

Take her to the vet and get her thyroid tested.. Don't start giving thyroid medication on one test result.. Get two done and then decide if she has a thryoid problem. Some vets will test and say Yes thyroid and jump the gun and if they had done a 2nd and even 3rd test to find their normal, will find that it's not thyroid at all. Insist on a couple of tests at least before you agree to thyroid medication. Once they start on it, they have to continue cause the thyroid stops working on it's own. I have friends with Akitas and they have this issue now and then...

Please take her to the vet. She may have a flea allergy which is still causing the problem even after you got rid of the fleas. Try bathing her in colloidal oatmel to lessen skin irritation - you can use a people-product like 'Aveeno' soothing bath (a powder mix, no-soal formula) or a product from your vet. Also, she may have some other problem - I don't know if dobes are subject to hypo-thyroid, but I know that can cause hair loss. Anyway, good luck.

It could be lots of things like allergies, demodaptic mange, hot spots a vet is really required to decide the problem and the treatment.
