It is normal for older people to lose hair, especially if it runs in your family.

They also say you get your hair from your mother's father aka one of your grandfathers. I know I'm going to go bald because my mom's dad started going bald when he was 22.

If it does not run in your family and your situation is becoming bleak, I would suggest seeing another doctor but make sure it's private and confidential, that way you don't insult the dermatologist who said it was normal.

And although Dr's do have Ph.D's and are supposed to lead their respective fields they can still have faults. They may be rather inexperienced in that sub-area or just have a difficult time with it. And not everyone was or is perfect. People just aren't perfect in general.

It's common to shed 100 to 150 stands per day. If you have more than that you should see another dermatologist. Also, check if any medicines you are taking has side effects or if your not eating well. Low iron can also cause hair loss.
