Contagious hair loss??

I am 26 and for about 1yr have been losing hair all over. I first noticed a younger relative having this problem and suggested she be checked thinking it may have been her birth control. Now my daughter and mother in law are also having this prblem. I remember having an extremely itchy scalp at first. I blew it off as just being my nerves. Now my scalp is still mildly itchy and slightly pink in areas nothing real noticable daughter is the same. Noticed small sores were my daughter and mother in law have been scratching I believe...any ideas?!?!?! I have beento the dermatologist only did blood test and gave me proscar to help hair regrow. Again this is all over hair loss and no patches that i know of. Also I am tired a lot and have episodes of light headedness. My mother in law shares these other symptoms also. Stressed about what is going on have been checked for thyroid....please help!!!

Contagious hair loss??

you are old. that is what happens when you get old, you lose your hair.

call that hairclub for men. you'd fit the bill perfectly there. You're a man, right?

Contagious hair loss??

You might want to look into something called Fungus Infection (Ringworm) of the scalp - Caused by a fungus infection, ringworm (which has nothing to do with worms) begins with small patches of scaling that can spread and result in broken hair, redness, swelling, and even oozing. This contagious disease is most common in children and oral medication will cure it. I did a little research for you and the only thing I found that fit your symptoms is this. Follow the link I have posted below I hope that this information helps. Good luck to you and your family I wish you all the best!

Contagious hair loss??

I think you should do some herbal treat ment.

Does rogaine prevent hair loss?

I started losing my hair maybe half a year ago and I'm 18 1/2 years old. I just bought 3 months worth of 2% rogaine (women's) to try first. I'm wondering if rogaine actually prevents baldness or is just meant to re-grow lost hair. Right now, mine is just a thinning patch on the crown area.

Does rogaine prevent hair loss?

Just stop being tricked into thinking hair loss can be cured. Look around you and find the famous men in history who are bald, and the famous who have hair implants.

Does rogaine prevent hair loss?

it doesn't work

Does rogaine prevent hair loss?

from my understanding it does help hair loss , being the smallest molecule and it can penetrate the skin other liquids just lay on top (THATS WHAT I HEARD)

Can I safely dye my hair?

My mother bleached it with kalidescope w/ 40 vol developer. Now my hair is orangy at the top and almost white at the bottom. It feels like straw and has no elasticity. I have tried hot oil treatments and this packet of conditioner called Ion that the beauty supply store said would help but it still feels horrible. When we rinsed the bleach out some hair came out also but i am not sure if this is from damage since i have been losing hair recently. I want to dye my hair red with hydrience 2 RR Scarlet Shimmer. I am worried that my hair will fall out if i do this. Any advice?

Can I safely dye my hair?

Salons are places where professionals will deal with any mess they or you might make. What I suggest is to remember not to use 40 volume anymore, or to leave it in for a shorter amount of time. What happened to your hair is the cuticles were lifted and the melanin protein in your hair was removed. It is common to have really unhealthy hair afterwards, there is no way around it. Dyeing your hair afterwards should be safe (as every single semi-permanent dye suggests bleaching and every guide to dyeing does as well) as long as you be careful with it. Be sure to include a lot of heavy conditioner in your shower routine for the next few months, just in case. Good Luck!

Can I safely dye my hair?

Go to a SALON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You should never never bleach your hair !!!!!!! Take care of your hair....

Can I safely dye my hair?

After the bleach application wait at least 48 hours and sleep in conditioner. Buy infusium leave in conditioner and wear during day. Wear a ponytail if you have to school etc..I would not put Hydrience on it most likely it will grab the base color and you could end up looking like a carrot red head, with black ends or fire engine red. Go to the drug store and get a Natural Instincts in a light neutral or natural blonde. Apply to roots for full 10 minutes than pull through the rest of the hair for about 3 minutes. Rinse hair til water is clean and put conditioner that is in the package and leave on for the recommended time. Now is NOT the time to go red.

Can I safely dye my hair?

Bleaching your hair is never good for your hair, coloring it is bad enough but bleaching is worse, and doing it with bleach that isn't for your hair is well... I wont go on. Go in and have someone actually look at it. Getting something from a supply store isn't the best eaither because most of those people just read it off the bottle anyway, you need someone to actually look at it.

Can I safely dye my hair?

Ion conditioner never helped my hair. The ONLY way you can safely dye your hair in this condition is to use a SEMI-permanent hair dye. This means there is no ammonia, no peroxide, just pigment and conditioners.

Go get some good conditioner (a hair "mask") and put it on your hair, rap it in a towel and leave it over night. In the morning rinse it out. Your hair should feel a little better. Do it weekly and see how it goes.

How to stop hair fall ???

How to stop hair fall ???

its summer so you are probably 'shedding'. a lot of animals do it during summer- and humans do too. Or if you use a creamy shampoo and conditioner- it is getting into your hair follicles and damaging it do it cant grow properly. Use a clarifying, rinse clean shampoo and conditioner to help your hair stay healthy.

How to stop hair fall ???

its natural that you lose about 100 strands a day soo...... but if you lose more than 100 a day then it might be stress

How to stop hair fall ???

I dont know whether you would like to try this but I have been trying this since more than 10 years ago. Most probably the reason its fall because of heat.

If you can find coconut milk ... its would be better. Yes...it is correct its smell bad.

I apply this coconut milk twice a month. Usually i apply during weekend while mostly during cleening house or doing something else alone.

Just take very small portion and apply through the whole hair. After that wrap it.. with shower cap also ok.

Then, u may start to do ur personal things .. and after 30 mins or 20mins you can go to shower and wash ur hair as usuall.

But u must remember coconut milk when apply to hair... will not smell good.

How to stop hair fall ???

You do not say if you are male or female and you do not give your age. Check photos of your ancestors for pattern balding and to determine at what age it can start. Have you started taking any medication that has hair-loss as a contra-indication? Are you experiencing stress - emotional, physical, chemcal or environmental? Ask your hairdresser what is normal. Check with your doctor if the condition continues beyond one season.

Should I get a hair transplant and breast reduction ladies?

I am a male who is losing hair and who suffers from breadt enlargement. Do you ladies feel I should get a hair transplant and breast reduction surgery if it will make me look better? I am confident about other things in my life except this.

Or do you think that decent looking ladies will overlook hair loss and boobs in a man? I don't mind women who are a bit overweight or who have small boobs so maybe I am worrying to much about my appearance? Or maybe not in today's superficial world?

Should I get a hair transplant and breast reduction ladies?

EEEWWWWWWW!!!!!!

Get rid of the boobs. Got a guy at work who needs a bigger bra than most of the women there. That's just nasty.

Should I get a hair transplant and breast reduction ladies?

i can overlook the baldness but get rid of the man boobs.

Should I get a hair transplant and breast reduction ladies?

Women don't care nearly as much about your appearance as you do. Do whatever it takes to make YOU comfortable with yourself, if you're comfortable with you, then you'll have confidence....and that the thing (normal) women look for most.

Should I get a hair transplant and breast reduction ladies?

The hair thing is not that big a deal-- lots of bald guys look hot.

The breast thing? How bad is it? Is it due to an illness?

Should I get a hair transplant and breast reduction ladies?

wat ever makes u feel good about your self but i think a boob jod will do you can all ways get a tupee

Should I get a hair transplant and breast reduction ladies?

Do this for yourself if you want, no one else, if it will make you feel more confident and help you feel better about yourself. If they love you they will accept you, I honestly don't think it will be a big deal, at all.

Should I get a hair transplant and breast reduction ladies?

I can stand the hair but the boobs got to go

Can cutting all hairs and waiting for hair to grow help hair loss ?

i am severly losing hair. please suggest. can getting all hairs cut or getting bald help !

Can cutting all hairs and waiting for hair to grow help hair loss ?

No, cutting or not cutting hair does not change how the hair grows. The part you can see is already dead - it has no nerves or other way of signaling anything to the follicle, where new hair grows.

The only medical treatment shown to work is Rogaine, which must be used for the rest of your life, and is expensive. I'd advise you to just get a buzz cut, and live with the thining.

Can cutting all hairs and waiting for hair to grow help hair loss ?

Unfortunatley, no. The other poster basically summed it up. Sorry :-(.

How do I Help my Hair?

I had my hair Japanese straightened for the 2nd time a few months ago (it was 10 months after the first time). Ever since then, I've been losing hair terribly, to the point where my hair is so thin and stringy that you can see through it at some parts.

I've been trying to do possible things to prevent the breakage and shedding, like putting huge mounds of conditioner in my hair every time I wash it (which I have been decreasing to about three times a week, since I heard it's not good to do it so often), and only combing it once, right after I wash it. But, all of this is to no avail.

Is there anything else I can do to prevent the breakage and shedding? Also, is there anything I can do in the meantime to make my hair appear thicker?

How do I Help my Hair?

Here is what you can do to prevent hair fall

Shampoo regularly. Remember, a CLEAN scalp is a HEALTHY SCALP.

Brahmi amla oil also promotes hair growth.

A high protein diet with plenty of fruits, green vegetables and dairy products is a must.

Drink 10-12 glass of water everyday.

Use a very mild shampoo and condition your hair at least twice a week. When you do, make sure you rinse out the conditioner thoroughly, otherwise residue build-up will cause your hair to look limp and dull.

Know your vitamins! IRON is important for healthy hair and brittle, limp hair indicates an iron deficiency. Spinach has a good iron content, so gulp it down!

ZINC helps prevent hair loss and greying. Eat adequate zinc rich foods. Overweight people tend to have zinc deficiency, which is inversely related to the body mass index. Thus if you are overweight and if your hair falls too much, you may want to increase your intake of zinc containing foods. Recipes containing stone ground, wholegrain flour are rich in zinc.

A shortfall in VITAMIN B may cause dandruff, falling hair, loss of colour and could encourage grey hair. So B group Vitamins are essential for gloss, colour and thickness.

VITAMIN C ensures the health of capillaries supplying blood to hair follicles. Make sure your diet includes plenty of fresh fruits and veggies.

VITAMIN E encourages hair growth. Switch from refined flours to whole meal and wheat germ, eggs, vegetable oil.

COPPER stops hair from falling. Studies show that the copper content in the blood serum of people with falling hair is less than normal. Different types of alopecia (falling hair) are seen to have a deficiency of this important trace element. Include small quantities of nuts, especially cashews and peanuts, seeds, whole milk and beans in your diet as these contain minute but important amounts of copper.

Homemade remedies for preventing hair fall:

Apply almond oil on scalp and massage.

Grind fenugreek seeds in water and apply on your scalp. Wash off after 40 minutes. Do this every morning for a month 闅哣 if it suits you! Remember, different treatments suit different types of hair.

Massage warm castor oil + almond oil into your scalp gently. Wrap a hot towel around your scalp so it gets absorbed into the hair. Do this twice a week for healthy, shiny hair.

Add 2-3 drops of honey to a glass of water and use this as the last rinse after shampooing.

Quick Hair Care Conditioner

Mix 1 egg, 2 tbs castor oil, 1 tsp vinegar and 1 tsp glycerine. Beat until frothy and massage lightly into your scalp. Wrap your head in a hot towel, steam, and then wash off. This conditioner makes hair thicker, shiny, soft and manageable.

Honey Conditioner

Beat 1-2 eggs (depending on the length of the hair), 1 tsp honey and 2 tsp olive oil. Massage gently into the scalp. Steam, and shampoo after an hour.

Alcohol Conditioner

Beat 1-2 eggs with 2 tsp brandy. Massage into your scalp. Leave for 10-15 mins. Rinse well. The egg nourishes your hair and brandy stimulates hair growth.

Your hair is a vital beauty asset, requiring constant loving care. And with a little nurturing, lush, glossy hair will be yours

ESSENTIALS FOR FALLING HAIR -

Does your hair fall often Arm yourself with these tools to combat hair fall.

Wide-toothed comb

Get yourself a wide-toothed comb. This is probably one of the most important yet underutilized of all hair tools. A wide-toothed comb helps you distribute conditioner evenly all over your hair while shampooing and conditioning. In addition, it also helps get rid of knots smoothly.

The best time to get rid of knots is during conditioning. Apply conditioner and run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair.

While untangling dry hair, do so in sections. Take one section at a time, and first, untangle the ends of your hair. Do so slowly, and don閳ユ獩 pull unless you want your hair to fall out in clumps or break.

Don閳ユ獩 wait for the last minute before detangling your hair. Every night, while sitting in front of the television, run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair, until you have untangled it completely. Do this every night, and you will notice that your hair remains free from tangles.

Leave-in conditioner

Dry hair tends to tangle easily, and, needless to say, causes it to break. Make sure your hair is never devoid of moisture by always keeping a bottle of leave-in conditioner handy. The next time you feel your hair is dry and rough to the touch, simply rub a dollop of leave-in conditioner between your palms, and apply it to your hair. Comb through with your wide toothed comb. Your hair will be instantly rejuvenated and moisturized. Gradually, the texture will also improve. This is a must if you blow dry your hair regularly, or if it is chemically treated. Such hair constantly craves moisture, so get yourself a bottle of leave-in conditioner.

Oil

Olive, almond and coconut oils are all excellent for the hair. While you could apply oil as an alternative to leave-in conditioner, oil tends to make your hair sticky, and you cannot style your hair well after applying oil. Your only alternative would then be to tie up your hair. For better results with oil, apply just a few drops immediately after washing your hair, when your hair is still dripping wet. Oil doesn閳ユ獩 penetrate the strands as easily as leave-in conditioner does though. Nothing beats a hot oil massage followed by a steam treatment, as the steam helps the oil penetrate the hair strands, strengthening them and curtailing hair fall.

Egg

Egg is great for the hair? There are no two ways about it! True, it causes a tremendous stink in the bathroom, and your hair may let off an? Egg? smell, but the results are instantaneous and worth it! Egg strengthens your hair almost immediately, and the egg yolk leaves your hair shining. Whip an egg with two tablespoons of olive oil and apply it to your hair. Wash off after half an hour. Make sure you wash off with cold water though, or the egg will start cooking in your hair, and would be harder to take off! Use a scented shampoo to counter the smell of egg in your hair, and follow up with a leave-in conditioner. Do this for a month, and you will be amazed by the change in your hair texture and the reduction in hair fall.
