Hair Tranplant and grafting?

What's the difference between thse two.and which one is more effectve ,,,

I started losing hair due to life style issues....

Hair Tranplant and grafting?

hair transplant is where they take hair from donors(yes there are hair donors i have a few friends that have done it) and place it on peoples heads its rather like doll's hair in the way they attack it to the skull it doesnt grow

grafting is where they take a spot where your own hair does grow and remove the cells at that location. then they open up the place where the graft is going to be and put the hair-growing cells there

the result is that hair grows in both places

this meathod is far more revolutionary because once its done i see no need to have it done ever again it would therortically be your own hair from a different place that is now at a different position it should grow and stuff just like normal hair

of course i would assume this meathod is more expensive and daingerous/complicated but u should look into that i dont no for sure

Hair loss at 13?????

ok i'm only 13 but i think i'm losing hair...i've heard certain shampoos can make it worse but i'm not sure y its falling out....its not in clumps but gradually...what should i do to prevent this?

Hair loss at 13?????

the average human head loses between 150-200 hairs everyday. If it is long hair, that many hairs can look like an awful lot when collected in a brush, or in your hands. This is completely normal and healthy. Not only are you losing that much hair everyday, you are also growing that many new hairs every day. If it was clumps, you would have more reason to worry, but it sounds like normal hair shedding.

Hair loss at 13?????

I would try taking vitamins or talking to your hairstylist or your doctor! Good Luck! :-D

Hair loss at 13?????

are you using too much hair cosmetics?like hairspray et cetera..?

Hair loss at 13?????

You should try this shampoo only sold in hair salons it's called Bioladge and it makes you hair shiney and strong!

Hair loss at 13?????

don't use Pert, that made my aunty lose hair

Hair loss at 13?????

first of all don't panic. it all depends. for one there is a difference between "falling out" and "shedding." one's hair is supposed to shed 100 hairs a day. unbelievable, huh? but quite true. you see the hairs that shed are supposed to be long hairs. that means you hair is healthy and is growing. when short pieces come out, that means your hair is breaking off. that is, of course, NOT HEALTHY. if this is happening it can be fixed simply by getting your ends clipped and applying a protein filled conditioner. so like i said from the start it all depends. believe me i know. so trust me.

Hair loss at 13?????

sadly often it can be in your genes and up to family history. I knew a couple of young people where had loss alot of hair and what they had left was white by 18.

If in doubt always check with your doctor

Hair loss at 13?????

talk to a doctor or a hairstylist. omg, i hope that u dont have leukemia!! that would be bad! oh and try not to use alot of hair products. are u coloring ur hair? if so are u coloring it alot? try shampoos like dove, loreal, maybe panteen.

Hair loss at 13?????

use hair growth products

Hair loss at 13?????

go to your family doctor, sounds like you are low in a certain vitamin

Hair loss at 13?????

a good diet will make your hair healthy, which includes shine, silkiness, softness, strength, and manageability.

vitamin e is good for the hair

it is moisturizing

and vitamin a

is good for the scalp

and healthy hair growth

protein makes ur hair grow faster than anything else because

hair is basically made of protein

so

eat eggs.. and dairy products

yogurt, milk, soymilk, and tofu are great examples

citrus fruits are also good for the hair.. and seaweed has a lot of vitamin a. vitamin a can be found in leafy veggies and carrots, especially. it is important to drink enough water to keep ur hair hydrated. 8-10 glasses is suggested for healthy hair growth. also, iron plays an important role in maintaining and growing healthy hair. iron brings oxygen to the hair, allowing it to breathe like us basically

(not the same way obviously)

and so if u dont take enough iron.. ur hair will be starved of oxygen and lose its shine, luster, etc.

b vitamins are also great for the hair. salmon, coldwater fish, and sardines are great fish that contain many of the vitamins hair needs.

i hope this information helped you!!

I wash my hair everyday usually, if i dont my scalp gets very itchy the next day.is that dandruff?

so i have normal hair, or atleast had, I am 19 years old and about 3 years ago i ACCIDENTALLY got my hair thermally relaxed, i originally went in for a consulation, and the lady began to actually put the product in my hair, me being 16 and naive went through the process. I am indian and i had beautiful thick hair. after that process, i lost hair like crazy, and it sorta grew back...but not the original thickness :(

just recently the past 5-6 months, ive noticed excess hair loss because u can see through my hair, its scaring me, my dermatologist said it could be hormones, but at this rate, im positive in the next few months, I WILL BE BALD!! off course im not asking for a diagnosis, but just ur opinions on what is going on with me( i also had blood tests done and everything is normal)

Also, i have to wash my hair daily or else it loks like i have 2 strands of hair it gets oily. I tried to cut down to every other day, but my scalp gets itchy.. is it dandruff? is that y im losing hair

I wash my hair everyday usually, if i dont my scalp gets very itchy the next day.is that dandruff?

Honestly I think you should consult this with your actual doctor and do what they say and see who they tell you to see.

I wash my hair everyday usually, if i dont my scalp gets very itchy the next day.is that dandruff?

It is not advisable to wash everyday to avoid itching. For that use a pack for scalp.

Whatever you had done to your hair didn't agee with you. People who have thick beautiful hair are so lucky and should learn to leave it alone:) but I hope something helps you soon, best of luck with that. Dandruff to my experience is an itchy scalp with white flakey skin that just drop out. Don't wash your hair with the same shampoo and conditioner, change the product every couple of months, find something for fine hair until your hair comes back it may not be as harsh, rub some baby oil into your scalp evey second day until you feel it becoming better. Even baby shampoo will not be too harsh for your hair at the moment. Best of luck.

I wash my hair everyday usually, if i dont my scalp gets very itchy the next day.is that dandruff?

I agree with Jade S. You should consult with your doctor, this doesnt seem like you're naturally going bald, something is definitely wrong. I think that it probably is the effects of the thing you had done when you were 16. So ya, I think that the best advice you can get would come from your doctor. If your doctor's advice sucks, then you should shave your head and keep shaving it for a while because everytime you shave your head, it grows back a little thicker. Shave it a few times then let it grow again. This would take a while so I reccomend buying a wig for that time period. But before doing that, make sure you are eating properly because bad diets often also lead to hair loss. So make sure you're getting lots of proteins, vegetables and vitamins. Try not to worry about it too much, hopefully you'll find the cause and everything will be ok :) Also try coconut oil or raw egg yolks on your scalp. Good Luck!!!

Has anyone lost hair after stopping use of steroid ointments?

Hi, I'm a female in late 30s. I started notice that my hairline was receding. It seems to have gotten much worse since I stopped using a steroid ointment (betamethasone valerate) that I've been using for a few years for my chronic eczema. I heard that it steroids might prevent immune system from attacking hair follicles (by mistake) or reduce the effects of stress, that might otherwise lead to hair loss. Has anyone had this experience of the link between the steroid ointments and hair loss?

Has anyone lost hair after stopping use of steroid ointments?

Risks of steroids: Steroid injections may be painful and need to be repeated every four to six weeks. Oral steroids are effective, but are rarely prescribed due to their side effects and need for long-term use (regrown hair may fall out when treatment stops).

Has anyone lost hair after stopping use of steroid ointments?

Chemicals, Drugs, Rogaine庐, Transplants ?

All those unnatural ways to grow hair with harsh chemicals and by plugging in hair transplants are earning huge corporations billions of dollars and doctors hundreds of thousands of dollars each year.

Why would they be foolish enough to promote something that would cost you less than $15 in grocery store stuff that can help to stop hair loss and regrow lost hair ? On top of that, they can鈥檛 make any money off of you from return visits or forcing you to buy their stuff every month for the rest of your life !

Rogaine庐 will set you back $40 a month, about $500 a year 鈥?for life. A hair transplant will cost around $10,000 or so. And the worst thing about them is that if they don鈥檛 work you don鈥檛 get your money back.

How can i lose some hair??

i have a lot of hair and whenever i comb it or put it in a pony tail i get head ackes and i really want to lose some hair ive done everything but havent researched on actually taking it out from the root thanks

How can i lose some hair??

What worked for me is a really tall mohawk as a teenager, lots of hairspray damage and Voila, no hair.

Its very easy to maintain and no headaches

How can i lose some hair??

cut it off

How can i lose some hair??

The only way to lose hair permanently right now is via laser hair removal. Sorry, that's about it.

How can i lose some hair??

Become a 38 year old father of three girls. You will lose hair!

How can i lose some hair??

i dont know about takin it from the root, but i know when i get a haircut they thin mine out and it looks really nice and is way lighter. thick hair is nice but if its giving u a headache maybe dont pull it so tightly into a ponytail or get it thinned out.

How can i lose some hair??

My hair is very thick as in packed densely on my scalp, and I'm always amazed at how much lighter it feels when I get a haircut. Although I've never gotten one, I know there are haircuts that can "thin out" your hair so it's not as heavy. I also seem to lose a lot of hair, but I think it's just because I have so much to begin with. The amount of hair you have on your scalp is genetic and there is nothing medically you can do about this. If you get headaches try not not to wear your hair up so much and see about getting your hair cut.

How can i lose some hair??

try getting long layers in your hair, it will make your hair seem thinner.

i know, i have long, thick hair too, getting layers will lighten the weight of your hair.

if its serious, look into laser.

Hi, I was wondering if using a flat iron can cause hair to fall out?

I have always lost hair while brushing or in the shower and it seems lately I have been losing a lot more. What kind of Shampoo and conditioner products are good for damaged, dry, and dull hair? Any one who has any suggestions please let me know... thanks :)

Hi, I was wondering if using a flat iron can cause hair to fall out?

It damages y our hair no matter what they try to sell you on. Heat styling damages the hair shaft and yes it will break off and cause split ends, and dried out hair.

Hi, I was wondering if using a flat iron can cause hair to fall out?

Try to not straighten and blow dry your hair everyday. I like Pantene products a lot. They have different shampoos for whatever your need is.

Hi, I was wondering if using a flat iron can cause hair to fall out?

It could just be that you are shedding your "winter coat" kind of like an animal.

Nothing that you can do to your hair will make it fall out.. not curling, not brushing, not straightening, not blowdrying, not using cheap waxy products like pantene that build up a nasty wax residue on your hair and eventually make it dull and lifeless, not coloring, not perming, nothing!! All of these can break your hair, but will not make it fall out.

For damaged, dry, and dull hair, use only professional (bought in a salon) products. Store products are either stripping and drying or waxy and cause build up.. either way, they are watered down and you are basically paying for a bottle of water w/a little soap.

Did you know if you use pantene to wash your car, you can wash and wax it at the same time?? true story.

Go to a salon and ask a stylist what she recommmends.. its hard to give suggestions if I can't see what it looks like. Stylists aren't just out to make money by selling you products.. if we sell you good products, it makes our job easier later when we have to do your hair, and it makes you like your hair better when we're done.

If you are straightening your hair.. when you go get those professional shampoos and conditioners, also ask the stylist for a heat activated styler or a heat protector. You spray it on dry hair and while the product is still wet you run your flat iron thru it. It will steam and smoke a little, its supposed to. It "seals" your cuticle and protects it from heat damage for up to 400 degrees. They really do work, I use them when I straighten my hair, and I stopped needing a trim as often.

Hi, I was wondering if using a flat iron can cause hair to fall out?

no only if you get it cought and it pulls it out. maybe if you burn your scalp badly with with it. bumble and bumble cocoa is great for your haie, you get it at good salons.

My 3 year old dogs is osing hair do ya'll know y???

I have a 3year old chuiuia and he has pretty long brown hair. He is losing hair by his tail and he keeps on biting at it. I have looked and there are scabs and little red spots down ther. Last year we took him to the vet and he said it was just allergies, because he had the same problem. We gave hime benagryl and that kind of worked. The problem is worse now and i don't know what too do I don't have enough money to take him to the vet so i'm asking ya'll.

My 3 year old dogs is osing hair do ya'll know y???

1 flea bite can cause this. It's allergies to fleas.

Bath him good, spray your area, Then buy some Frontline spray for him %26amp; apply as directed.

My 3 year old dogs is osing hair do ya'll know y???

Maybe it has dandruf.

My 3 year old dogs is osing hair do ya'll know y???

Thank god they arent losing thier heads

My 3 year old dogs is osing hair do ya'll know y???

You might need to change his diet try rice and chicken only, it might be his food if not check him for fleas he might not have any but it will only take one to cause a reaction

Good Luck

My 3 year old dogs is osing hair do ya'll know y???

I got a "second hand" pekingese that had similar symptoms and it turned out to be mange. It's tiny parasites that get under their skin and you can treat it at home with a special shampoo. Hope this helps, have a great day.

My 3 year old dogs is osing hair do ya'll know y???

spray some fly spray into some toliet paper and rub over the area,it sounds like he has mites on his tail and as the mites chew on him, it is irritating him and thats why hes chewing on his tail. careful if may very sore

My 3 year old dogs is osing hair do ya'll know y???

To help ease the itching for your dog while the scabs heal would be to use an Oatmeal Rinse/Conditioner made for dogs. Your vet can recommend a good one for you, I think it may be called Relief, but I cannot remember. I bought one bottle for 19 dollars - but it latest a year and through both my dog and my neighbor's dog's allergies.

Another thing my vet let me know when one of my dog was having an allergic reaction to mosquito bites, was to buy the cheapest allergy pills (the genetic Wal-Mart brand Equate is good) out there - and give him 1/2 of one in the morning and the other half at night - for 3 to 4 days. And that helped him get over it.

Since it's only the one spot - the folks above may be right about a flea bite. If it was in other places, and you had a Westie, I'd have to let you know it could be the dog's diet.

Meanwhile, when you have funds again, find a vet you can talk to. They will be able to find relief and answers for your dog's future problems.

My 3 year old dogs is osing hair do ya'll know y???

It is flea allergy dermatitis. Get some revolution or advocate and treat the dog, also get some pills to treat him for tapeworm as they are carried in the fleas and ingested when the dog bites the flea. Tapeworm can be serious not only to your pet but to you. Keep your dog flea free ALWAYS. Once they have the flea allergy, one bite will cause it to flare up again, then you run the risk of other complications and it can end up with thickened skin and the hair will never grow back, fix it now.

Hair problem...please let me know whats up?

I notice that suring the change of seasons I start losing hair (more than normal) and I get dandruff. I have been using the same shampoo. What can be causing this? Does this happen to you also?

Is it bad that I wash my hair everyday?

Please share with me your personal experience or information you read somewhere...i would greatly appreciate it. Thank you :)

Hair problem...please let me know whats up?

It is better to wash your hair every other day, but that really isn't the problem. When seasons change so should your skin and hair regime because winter takes a lot of moisture from your skin and scalp. Try more moisture, Paul Mitchell -Tea Tree - Hair and Scalp Treatment might help.

Hair problem...please let me know whats up?

You could have sebhorriec dermatitis. In babies it is referred to as cradle cap. My sister has it and has the same symptoms as you do. Especially during season changes. The only thing that she has found to fix it is buying all natural hair products with no toxins in them. She had to join a product club called Maleleuca to clear hers up. There is no "cure" but you can't tell now that she has it!! If you want to check it out just go to their website maleleuca.com. If you aren't interested you could try to find a similar product (the secret is tea tree oil) that can be found in any health store like GNC)

Hair problem...please let me know whats up?

If the dandruff happens when it's cold, that's normal. Your scalp is like your skin. When it gets colder out, your skin gets drier. I personally wash my hair every other day b/c it's so thick. It's actually healthier that way too b/c your not stripping all of the oils out of your hair (you need some of them). Also, try switching shampoos. Your hair tends to get "used" to what your using, so switching up actually gives hair a boost b/c it's something different. Hope this helps. Oh, and Garnier makes this 3-minute hair masque that you put on after you shampoo, it's awesome for hydrating your hair and scalp. :)

Hair problem...please let me know whats up?

1 - You need to make sure you rinse your hair thoroughly.

2 - Use a conditioner, and make sure that it gets down to your scalp.

3 - Don't blow dry your hair until it is bone dry. Let it finish drying in the air.

4 - Buy a better shampoo. You do get what you pay for.

Hair problem...please let me know whats up?

I wash my hair everyday.Make sure you use a really good conditioner. It doesn't hurt to use a hot oil treatment once a week either. If your hair continues to fall out and gets dry and brittle, you might want to consult your doctor. This can be a sign of thyroid disease

Hair problem...please let me know whats up?

don't worry.....this is normal during the change of seasons.....hot oil treatments and some mild conditioners can work wonders......and well just take care of the dandruff coz if it increases then it's gonna be horrible...........for the dandruff you can use some mild anti-dandruff shampoo.........

Hair problem...please let me know whats up?

I get the same problem with my skin, hair and scalp during the winter. It is because central heating dries my skin out. I always turn to using a creamy shampoo (like dove) or an anti dandruff shampoo that moisturizes the scalp during the winter.

Hair problem...please let me know whats up?

My daughter has sebhorriec dermatitis.I had tried all kinds of dandruff shampoos on her before taking her to the doctor about it.Her doctor recommended using Denorex extra strength shampoo twice a week and her condition has cleared up.

Hair problem...please let me know whats up?

Hair loss!!?

losing hair at alrming rate any suggestions??please?

Hair loss!!?

you must be old

Hair loss!!?

I would go to a salon and ask them for help because I can't think of products to help hair loss for younger women so I would talk to a professional and see what they can do for you

Hair loss!!?

Use Avalon Organics shampoo and conditioner.

Stop eating junk food such as fast food, fried food, cold cuts, balony, dry-cured sausages, soda, potato chips, cheese puff sticks, and processed food.

Drinks lots of water, 3 glasses of milk, fruit juice.

Eat cheese, fruit, vegetables ( except for brocoli, cabbage. mustard greens, and anything from those families)

lean meat, eggs, egg whites, whole grains, and don't skip breakfast.

Hair loss!!?

don't put your hair in ponytails or have it tied up. that causes hair breakage. Don't use alot of force while combing your hair. I know this next one may be kinda disgusting, but don't wash your hair every day. try every other day. that should help alittle. Also, if you have cancer and went through chemotherapy, that could be causeing it and then none of my answers would be able to help you.

Hair loss!!?

Eat more protein...if you are not eating enough..your hair will fall out. It sucks..mine does it too.

Hair loss!!?

To treat hair loss apply a little lemon juice with some black tea. Massage well and shampoo.Rub oil into the scalp. Wring out a towel in hot water and wrap it on the head. Keep it on for 15 minutes. Shampoo and dry well. Check out

11 Month PitBull Hair Loss?

My 11 Month Old PitBull Is Losing Hair On His Back.Any Ideas For Stoping It.

11 Month PitBull Hair Loss?

typically pitts are prone to having mange! if there is a rash where the hair is falling out that is almost a perfect circle, it is more than likely mange which are skin mites that get deep under neath their pores so you can not see them with the naked eye, they have to be taken to the vet to have a skin scrape and looked at under the microscope... If there is no rash, it could just be allergies, just take him in and get an allergy shot, typically dogs who need allergy shots need to get them every 6-8 weeks!

If it is mange, the most effective way to get rid of them is to have your dog "dipped". Mitaban dip is the best for this, and is pretty costly... Dogs typically need at least 5-7 maybe more depending on how severe the mange is, and one dip will NOT get rid of them either (no matter how small the case). Where I'm from these dips typically cost about $35 PER DIP!

Also could be due to lack of nutrients! make sure that the diet that your puppy is on is right for him...

Hope all is well, and good luck

11 Month PitBull Hair Loss?

hair club for dogs

11 Month PitBull Hair Loss?

A lot of bulldogs end up losing hair due to sudden light changes. My bully is going through the same thing. Your vet should be able to prescribe a topical medication but if you let it progress too far it may be irreversable.

11 Month PitBull Hair Loss?

There are several reasons he is losing his hair on his back. The first thing that comes to mind is FLEAS. More than a few dogs have serious allergies to flea saliva. Next is excessive bathing; some shampoos irritate a dog's skin enough to cause so much dryness that sun gets in and burns the skin, which draws little gnats, tiny little stinging insects who cause the dog to chew on the itch and it goes round and round. Few dogs need to be bathed more frequently than once a month...

SOMETIMES... its nutritional; not enough fats in the food. Beneful, dry or meals is GREAT, so is Pedigree. I fed my dogs both and they were perfectly healthy. I suggest you search for fleas, mites and if you dont find either, wipe him down with bug repellant and see if that doesnt work.. add more fats,*moderately* too much causes Pancreatitus... and FINALLY if none of the above works, take the dog to a vet and get skin scrapings to determine if he has a form of mange or exczema.

Chronic hair lost at 20! What is wrong?!?

My friend who just turned 20 recently suddenly suffered from very serious chronic hair lost. She became literally bald on the top of her head within 2 days and her medical test results claims that she's going through hormonal imbalance. Thus the doc prescribed her steroids and some injections on her head every 2 weeks! He told her there's nothing to worry about and and that she can go on with her college and daily activities. But i'm terrified for her health, is it really that 'simple'? Could she be poisoned or exposed to some unknown harm?

Chronic hair lost at 20! What is wrong?!?

Tell your friend to RUN to a dermatologist. This sounds more like alopecia and not a hormonal issue. If it were a hormonal issue, it wouldn't have been sudden but over time. With alopecia you can have a full head of hair on Monday and by Friday have complete loss. You can also have regrowth. (I have personal experience with this)

Please tell your friend to see a dermatologist. Getting the steroid shots or other topical steroids will only keep the hair in while she is getting the injections. Stop the injections, the hair falls out. There are long-term issues with steriod use.

Chronic hair lost at 20! What is wrong?!?

Is she having other symptoms? She might want to look into cushings disease as well. Could very well just be hormones though...certain birth control pills (hormones) will cause me to lose more hair than others.

Chronic hair lost at 20! What is wrong?!?

Why would you be terrified because your friend is losing her hair - you are just hooked on drama.

Going, going, gone. loosing hair fast! help!?

just had a baby and was told that i would be losing hair as a result. i didn't think i would lose so much on a daily basis. is there anything that can be done to prevent or at least lessen the amount???

Going, going, gone. loosing hair fast! help!?

it's the freaking hormones, i tell you women have to go through hell dealing with hormones but no worries it wont go on forever..my hair was coming out as well but after a while it stopped and actually grew thicker and longer.

Going, going, gone. loosing hair fast! help!?

Your going to loose hair, lots of it, there will be times when you ask yourself how much more can I loose?

You'll be in the shower using the Conditioner running your fingers thru it and your hands will look like hairy monsters. NO Joke!.....BUT...RELAX,,, this is normal, your body has been thru 9 months of changes, this shedding is part of it getting back to the way it was...

Going, going, gone. loosing hair fast! help!?

Many of my new mother clients have had the hair loss that your hormones are creating. You can combat it with taking biotin (consult your pediatrician if you are breast feeding or at least watch for stomach upset in baby). Biotin is the predominant protein that hair is made of. Another product that helps a lot is Nioxin. It is a full hair care line that your stylist can supply you with. It creates a clean and healthy pallet for your hair. It helps control the effects of hormones. Do not use Rogaine/Minoxidil if you are breast feeding. It is safe and effective once you have stopped breast feeding.

Going, going, gone. loosing hair fast! help!?

The average person loses 100 hairs per day in a normal "shedding" process as the hair follicles take turns "resting." Pregnancy hormones cause hair follicles to not take this rest, so for the 9 months of pregnancy those hairs stay instead of being shed, so at the end of your pregnancy you have the best head of hair you ever had.

Then when pregnancy ends those hormones go away and ALL of those that should have shed in the last 9 months all shed at once. Your hair ends up thin and, frankly, depressing. It is (usually) only slightly thinner than what it was before your pregnancy, but coming so soon after having incredibly thick, luxurious hair it seems really horribly thin.

But they will all grow back though they may be of a different type (change from straight to curly, or rough to silky) or slightly different shade of your previous hair color.

The best way to deal with this is to get a short, sassy haircut and use a body-building shampoo and conditioner. That way the thinness will be less noticeable and will start looking thicker more quickly, and babies have a tendancy to pull long hair, it will save you alot of pain in the near future. Also, long hairs tend to get wrapped around babies's wrists or other parts and tighten, causing ugly, painful welts or even cut into their skin. Keeping your hair short prevents this.

Miniaturization of the hair and genetic hair loss, I have my opinion, but would like yours?

i've heard from a hair surgeon that miniaturization of the hair or this difference in hair diameter is an indicator of early balding. Okay, so if you have a small population of hairs that have been miniaturized, but still have a full head of hair at your late 20's how can you tell that person is balding? It's true that as we grow older, we will all experience miniaturized hair, but you can't simply tell people, specially someone with a full head of hair that they're balding because you saw varied hair diameters on their scalp. I've learned that genetic hair loss does NOT necessarily mean you're going to go slick bald with that ring of hair around your head. You could just either thin out, or just simply lose hair density. I don't think it's a good idea to start that drug propecia with a full head of hair just because you have a small population of hairs that vary by diameter. I don't think I want to trust this doc's advice to start propecia at my mid 20's while I still have hair.

Miniaturization of the hair and genetic hair loss, I have my opinion, but would like yours?

adrenal glands

Balding is caused by adrenal dysfunction.

Can extended fasting cause permanent hair damage?

If someone went on a water fast for a few weeks (not for weight-loss), would this cause permanent damage to the hair as far as losing hair and hair-thinning?

Can extended fasting cause permanent hair damage?

Yes, because the lack of nutrients and vitamins protein....your body will would be in danger and it would show signs.....you wouldn't even believe how much damage you can actually do to yourself with poor nutrition..i think the fact that i starved myself and was anorexic for years...it played a role in my health today for a fact...so i really don't suggest going on your fast

Can extended fasting cause permanent hair damage?

Usually it will not cause permanent damage. After you start eating well again the hair will start to grow out healthier. It will not do anything for the damaged ends of the hair, but the roots that grow out will be stronger and less prone to damage. My suggestion is to always take a good multi-vitamin or prenatal vitamin, especially if you are fasting. This will help to keep the hair healthy even if you aren't eating good. Also, you could try taking Omega-3. You can get Omega-3 naturally by eating fish. This is good for your hair too and helps it to stay moisturized. Hope this helps.

Is there a way that I can get my hair to thicken up?

I know that some people just have naturally thin hair, but without getting a weave or anything like that, how can I get my hair to thicken out? I have super thin hair and I am always losing hair. I hate taking showers because then it just comes out by the handful it seems... (No, I don't have lice... Lol...)

Anyway, how can I stop this intense shedding?

Is there a way that I can get my hair to thicken up?

Lavender oil has been shown to increase hair growth and thicken so massage the oil once a week and soak for 30 minutes before washing. Try http://solutionsforhairgrowth.blogspot.c... for more details.

Is there a way that I can get my hair to thicken up?

Wall paper paste is very effective and individual.

Is there a way that I can get my hair to thicken up?

I have thin hair too Australian Organics have a good range of vitamin poos that helps stop that happening its such a sham when it happens, I can not be bothered to grow hair long because of the hassle.

It has lavender in it and tea tree oils and is magic stuff.

Is there a way that I can get my hair to thicken up?

Hair is always important and a pride just to anyone and people would spend so much money to feed their hair with the best shampoos and conditioners and, the best combs and brushes. Some even buy bands to keep their hair neat. Others, apply all sort of oils and gels and sprays on their hair. Many out of ignorant, wash their hair too often and while its wet, they towel dry by rubbing and wiping and some would brush and use hair dryer to dry their hair instantly. Now looking all these ways and means how people treat their hair, don't you think they encourage hair thinning or loss? Another thing, some of these people are anemics; you need balanced nutritions to have a healthy hair. Use olive oils instead of the marketed ones. And keep away from those things i said which are ways to harm your hair and cause the fall as you complained. I hope these help.

Is there a way that I can get my hair to thicken up?

well i use a ausie product called aussie volume and leave in conditioner, and i noticed results with my hair, but i also use other hair care products daily, mostly aussie.

Is there a way that I can get my hair to thicken up?

You know, I have no clue but I thought it was funny the replies between you and Penfold. lol

Is there a way that I can get my hair to thicken up?

Just take a rest with the chemo therapy.

Hair loss It is increasing every day?

I really wish there was a simple cure. Generally there are many types of hair loss and the best way to help yourself is to identify which type you have. Genetics, scalp disorders, medication, etc....

I think in your particular case you may be able to identify the cause. If your actually seeing an increase than its usually related to something specific to you....Most men go gradually unless its a disorder like alopecia arata which is even more upsettiing for women.

Identifying it in your case might be possible.

Asking yourself these questions, you dont' have answer me, lol...

ust please promise YOUR FAMILY NOT use that spray on hair it doesn't look as good as some men think it does.

Try to identify exactly when it started....

Keep a journal to document changes.

Did your water supply change, did you move ?

Are you taking new prescriptions or illegal drugs,

especially steriods, antidepressants, arthritis, chemothereapy, methotrexate, etc.....However small it seems its important to identify what it was. It could mean saving your hair versus going bald. Every single vitamin, diet pills right down to changes in your eating habits.

What is new, something initiated it....The rate of hair loss and speed your losing tells me its not genetic traditional balding.

Certain medical conditions could cause it. I would definately have a physical and tell your doctor. Its easy to rule out the basics that way....

Most commonly it tends to be drug related...a routine physical will also help rule out drugs or toxins you don't even know about.

Basically there is no one answer or solution. For some, they is an obviously factor, for others there isn't. I wish there were.

I always look for potential ways that toxins get into your body.

Air Water Ingestion/Diet Environment

For genetic hair loss, any hair loss I reccommend the following.....

Hair care products that help hair loss....I reccommend these because I am trained in these products and the INTENDED result is to increase circulation to the scalp as poor blood ciruculation is one of the reasons for hair loss and the following products a tingling agent intened to increase and permit proper scalp cirucltation....( Paul Mitchell Green Tea products, Joico has Biojoba, almost every product line has a product that adresses thinning or scalp issues.)

As to the infommercials and all of these new or expensive ways to regrow hair, I am not commenting simply because I have never used them, I am not familiar with the results and every new product promises to be the new solution, only time and consistency is the true test. As with many others, I would probably try them all if I were losing my hair.

To this date, snake oil the gypsy's sold is my first reaction. I am not picking on anyone in particular because I am not trained in their methods....Most are quite complicated.

My boyfriend is balding, okay almost done going bald and he uses shampoo's, etc but isn't interested in bothering with expensive hair treatments and he promised to never use hair in a can, lol....

He takes Methotrextate every week for Crippling Rhuemetiod Arthritis and fibermyalgi. Methotraxate is a form of chemotherapy. Despite it, he refuses to slow down as being a master boiler and heating technician this is his busy 24/7 season. If he were to give in it becomes crippling, if we try to stay in bed and watch movies on a Sunday, the longer he lays down the worse he gets, if he didn't push himself, its so hard to watch at times...

I feel so bad as his hands, wrists, arms, legs, feet, ankles are visiably swollen about double size. He also takes remecade infustion and has to go monthly for that. Basically most of his meds result in hair loss, so I don't argue....Methotrexate has the same side effects as chemotherapy...It makes him so sick and he doesn't complain....

I hope some of this is helpful....

Sudden extreme hair loss?

I have been losing hair on the sides above my temples for the past 2 months. Does natural male pattern balding happen that rapidly or could there be other factors involved. For example I don't eat right and have been very stressed lately.

Sudden extreme hair loss?

its prolly just stress

Sudden extreme hair loss?

dont panic,

hair loss can be down to diet stress medication etc

lots of reasons if you are worried visit your gp for advice

itll probably grow back

Sudden extreme hair loss?

Stress, buy your self some Biotin, its for hair and nails, and it will stop the hair loss. I feel for you brother, ive been there to. Remove the stress and the hair will slowly come back, but you will loose it faster then it will come back unless you take the herb.

Sudden extreme hair loss?

Yes, stress causes hair loss!!

Check out this site for sum helpful advice:

http://www.malehealth.co.uk/userpage1.cf...

Sudden extreme hair loss?

that can do it. also your iron could be low. when yo become anemic you will loose hair like that. check with your doctor. good luck and best wishes.

Sudden extreme hair loss?

stress can definately cause this. but you should definately get your thyroid checked. An under active thyriod will cause rapid hairloss.

Sudden extreme hair loss?

ur just getting older

Sudden extreme hair loss?

strees is a big factor i think for that issue of hairloss. also malnutriton start eating healthy foods to see if you see a difference

Sudden extreme hair loss?

youre using too much hair product on your hair, you wash your hair every day for the last 15-20 years which means youre losing moisture, youre getting old, its in your genes. I recommend hair laser treatment or wear a tupee?

Sudden extreme hair loss?

Surely you are sad about it.

I have a problem with hair too.

My scalp often hurts. And that pain seems to me a sign of balding. So I hate this.

And recently I found why this scalp-ache occurs.

It occurs when I concentrate on something with my eyes, like reading.

Concentrating with the eyes on anything turned out to be the cause of scalp-ache, and any other bad bodily condition, like tooth decaying or anything.

So, what I have to do to avoid this scalp-ache, is to refrain myself from too much concentrating.

When I concentrate on something and the scalp-ache occurs, I have to take a refreshment, as many refreshments as possible any time it occurs.

Taking refreshment removes the scalp-ache (and any other bad bodily condition).

The basic way of refreshment is chaging the place you are at. And the most easy way of the changing the place is to walk about.

This is what I'm doing to prevent balding.

And I also refrain myself from too much washing of hair.

I wash hair every day, but I avoid the perfectionism, the perfectionism of hair washing. Such way of washing plucks a lot of hair.

And I also found that keeping your face downwards gives you more relaxation to your head.

People who go bald are always keeping their face forward.

Such way of holding the head brings much stress to your head.

But, even when you are facing downward, if you concentrate on something, stress will cover your head.

So good is only when you are doing nothing.

All this is what I found by myself, so no expert would say such things. So you won't believe these ideas, I'm afraid.

Sudden extreme hair loss?

Badly damaged hair breaks at the scalp. To treat hair loss apply a little lemon juice with some black tea. Massage well and shampoo.Rub oil into the scalp. Wring out a towel in hot water and wrap it on the head. Keep it on for 15 minutes. Shampoo and dry well. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.

My natural hair colour is constantly lightening all by itself! Should i be worried?

Hello I'm of Indian origin and live in the tropics. My natural hair colour when i was born was of a deep chestnut colour but it is now constantly fading to a rusty-red colour. I have NEVER ever had artificial colour in my hair. Should I be worried? Am i losing hair pigmentation or something? I'm 23 years old.

My natural hair colour is constantly lightening all by itself! Should i be worried?

I am a stylist and you should be happy to know that anyone that is in the sun often will experience natural lightening of the hair. When your hair is exposed to the sun the sun acts as a lightner (just as it fades paints and other colors over time) and thus your coloring changes. Most of the lightening should be at the top of your head and around your face where the sun hits the most (it is the hair that is the most exposed as opposed to hair underneath). It is very natural for hair that is originally(naturally) dark to fade up to a red-orange tone and so on. If it bothers you you can have a rinse that matches your natural color applied by a professional and it will tone it back down. Keep in mind that after a period of time in the sun (3-6 weeks) that it will fade up again.

My natural hair colour is constantly lightening all by itself! Should i be worried?

That's no problem. Hair pigmentation changes as you grow older. My friend was born blonde, then brunette, and now she's a red head, without ever dying her hair! True, 23 is a little old for hair color changing, but everyone's different. Besides, be glad its not turning gray!

My natural hair colour is constantly lightening all by itself! Should i be worried?

u need not worry

Need ideas for a GOOD conditioner that won't reck my hair. Help!!?

I love Panteen conditioner, but I have been told by many people that it has a chemical that can make you lose hair. I have long very thick hair that requires me to use alot of conditioner to tame it. Panteen does the job, but I don't want to worry about losing my hair. I have tried other conditioners, but I don't seem to get the same results. I would love any suggetions. Thanks

you're right-pantene is not good for the hair-my stylist has told me this also, and i have seen advice about this on this site too.

nexxus and matrix makes really good products, a really good one for you that i use(and works awesome) would be the matrix sleek look line. it really tames unruly hair and makes it as soft and smooth as can be.

nexxus therapee and humectress are both moisturizing products that are also very good. a real good leave in is paul mitchell's super skinny serum (you have to decide how much to use depending on your hair type)

Hair And Skin Problem With No Answers From Gp?

hey guys every few months i ask this question to see if anyone else has got any ideas, since i was 20 im now 22 ive started to get tiny white spots all over my skin they are more prominent when im cold or stressed but now theyve got tot he point theyre nearly always there they are called bier spots, from all the worrying about them and neglecting myself i devoloped seb derm on my scalp and eyebrows it caused me a lot of hairloss and eybrowloss, but ive managed to control the seb derm finally to the point u wouldnt even think i had it but im still losing hair and eyebrows everyday they rub out when im sleeping really easy and when i wake up i see loose hairs on my face im getting really desperate as my gp isnt helping at all, its one thing after another is it possible its an underlying issue? thanks for any help

Hair And Skin Problem With No Answers From Gp?

okay, i'm neither a guy nor an expert, but my suggestion would be to see a dermotologist and ask them for a 2nd opinion.

as for the idea that it might be something underlying, i would not stress about that until you've taken the time to ask more than your general practice dr for advice. i don't trust them anyways...

Is there any natural methods to prevent hair loss without the use of medicines?

im 16 and i THINK im losing hair although it might not be obvious. what i want to know is that is there any natural methods to prevent it? for example : shampooing hair everyday, wash hair everyday? i tried using Flaxseed oil pills and i wonder if it really helps. Thx if anyone can help me.

Is there any natural methods to prevent hair loss without the use of medicines?

We are seeing a hair loss epidemic in both males and females and it楹搒 occurring at ever younger ages - as young as 14 and 15. One of principal causes of loss is shampoos and other products containing harsh harmful ingredients and medicated shampoos only make the problem worse. They also cause dandruff, premature graying, inhibited growth and many more problems. Washing hair too frequently removes beneficial natural oils and harms scalp and also is a cause of loss. I found this NATURAL, safe, low cost treatment that gives remarkable results - it stops the loss almost straight away. Scalp needs stimulation to clear blocked hair ducts, remove dead follicles so it can start producing strong, well anchored, thicker hair. Massage with natural oils, olive oil is excellent, and then brush vigorously (best with a short bristled palm held brush) so you feel it stimulating scalp (35 /45 strokes or even more each day.) A little shedding and some breakage occurs but only to begin with - quickly stops as hair gets anchored and stronger. Hair will grow faster, become thicker and It will also force new growth overtime (expect to see in about 2 months) My bald patch on the crown has completely regrown. Where it had receded at temples new growth was a slower process but I found, month by month , the hair line inched forward. (Initially the hairs are sparse and weak looking then overtime become denser and stronger). Do at night and sleep with it that way and wash off in the morning (because of treatment - washing daily will not be detrimental). Keep up treatment and DON楹揟 BE AFRAID OF LOSING NEW GROWING HAIRS - THEY WILL RE-APPEAR EVEN STRONGER. Using this treatment you have to have patience and persevere day in, day out but it truly works . Also do a web search "Shampoos harmful?" MANY contain sodium laurel sulphate, sodium laureth sulphate and propylene glycol, all of which are harmful. First two are dangerous and both damage hair follicles and cause hair loss. They also harm eyes.- the eye stinging you get is telling you that. Fetuses subjected to these substances do not develop functioning eyes, and both can cause cataracts in adults. Propylene glycol is a known skin irritant and is thought to cause mouth ulcers. It also damages the kidneys and liver. Do a web searches : "Non harming shampoos" "Non harming hair products" There are some which are beneficial- they are expensive but worth it. What you put in your body is not going to do much to stop loss. Also hair loss and balding tends to be genetic. My father and two younger brothers all had severe hair loss problems. I truly believe this treatment has saved me from the same fate.

I'm concerned that you emphasise the fact that you "think" you are balding. Do you mean that other people are unable to notice?

At your age your body is changing in many ways as it goes through the last big surge to adulthood. Some of these changes can make a dramatic difference to your overall body shape including your facial features so it's possible that you simply seeing that change. If you feel that your forehead is higher than it was then this could be the reason.

Whats a hair product that helps prevent this...?

well it really depends on how many you are losing at a time...I used to lose more than I do now and the I started use trese ma and I am now only losing the maximum of 2 starnds of hair per brushing and showering...all that you have to remember is that no matter what you WILL lose about 100 stands of hair a day just like everybody else!!

i dont know about products, but if you wear your hair too tight in a ponytail that will cause it to fall out

I have a Rat terrier pup who is losing his hair in spots?

vet says it's not bacteria, food or allergy related-something with hair tract problem his hair may come out and grow back and may not any ideas on how to handle.

I have a Rat terrier pup who is losing his hair in spots?

The vet actually said, "something with hair tract problem"? That's not much of a diagnoses! Did the vet do a skin scraping? Did he look at your dog under a Wood's light? How old is your dog and how long as he/she been experiencing hair loss? Does he/she scratch excessively? How does your vet know it is not an allergy....did he do any lab work? There are several diseases that can cause hair loss....from demodectic mange.....ring worm....Cushing's Disease...

So, I'd say more information is needed, but actually a trip to a new vet may be warranted! No one on the Internet can just take an educated guess and correctly diagnose your dog.

I have a Rat terrier pup who is losing his hair in spots?

Did the vet do a skin scraping? If not you cant be sure. I have a dog who has an auto-immune problem that makes his hair fall out. He is especially sensitive to topical flea meds so we stoped using them and switched to program and it has slowed but he is pretty much bald on the underbelly and spotty everywhere else. He looks so grunge poor guy!

Try going to a website...www.peteducation.com Its a great resource. Did the vet look at the possibility of mange? Groom the dog w/a soft bristle brush to stimulate oils and hair follicles. Is the skin dry or oily. I would need more info to properly give more advice.

Sounds like red mange. Take him to a vet and he will do a skin scrape. Be prepared to spend big money if it is mange. Good luck!

I have a Rat terrier pup who is losing his hair in spots?

I agree with the first 2 answers, and also, my black lab loses his hair when he is stressed. We moved one time and his hair over his tummy and rump thinned and he had a lot of bald patches. Then he started chewing and licking the area and that did not help. Some dogs are a bit more high strung than others. We just made sure he was getting a good dog food and tried to help him adjust (got him a nice new bed, toys and his fav chew things) It grew back. Good luck.

I have a Rat terrier pup who is losing his hair in spots?

Rat Terriers are prone to mange. Not the serious kind. But it does take a vet to get it controlled.I have a 3 yo Rat Terrier that goes thru this at least once a year. I checked back where I got him %26amp; some of theirs has it to. The vet will check him for heart worm first as some of the meds could kill him if he has that, but they have another kind that works too. It is not unusual for this to show up in this breed.

It cost me $90 for meds %26amp; heart worm test.

I have a Rat terrier pup who is losing his hair in spots?

Its stated she was at the vet Im sure the vet did a skin scrap to rule out demodex, sarcoptic mange or ringworm. Im sure if that came back negative the vet drew blood work to check thyroid or auto immune. To me the question is they don't know why even though the tests have all been negative.

I would suggest a calm atmosphere you said its a puppy and if you haven't had it very long it could be due to stress of a new home new situation new people. Just as in people I have seen stress do many things to dogs. Adoption days are crazy. Our fosters are used to one way of life with us then some of their friends go meet new friends and people and other animals sniffing and petting them they don't react well. Some fosters simply can't go to adoptions because of the stress.

Rat terriers are high strung dogs. If you are sure your vet ruled out as many possible things it could be then I would work towards calming her atmosphere.

Has anyone switched from Topamax to Zonegran in order to combat hair loss from Topamax?

Are you still losing hair from Zonegran? I fear that I am still losing hair at the same rate as Topamax...any experiences with hair loss in particular on Zonegran????

Has anyone switched from Topamax to Zonegran in order to combat hair loss from Topamax?

Both of them didn't control my hair loss. For more details check out http://hair.health2all.info

Has anyone switched from Topamax to Zonegran in order to combat hair loss from Topamax?

How long ago did you switch. I was losing a lot of hair from Seroquel. It was lowered significantly but my doctor said that even if it was discontinued, it would take months until the hair loss came to a halt. Maybe the same is true with Topamax.

BTW, I was on Topamax a few years ago but didn't notice a problem with hair loss. Meds affect people differently.

Shiny Hair?

I put Garnier Fructis shine gel in my hair when it was wet, and when I blow dryed it, it weighed down my hair and just made it look greasy instead of shiny. My hair lost its softness, too. Am I not using it correctly or what? Should I try a different product?

Shiny Hair?

I don't use that stuff, but you aren't using it correctly. Read the back of the bottle.

Shiny Hair?

Don't use to much or it will make it greasy. Don't put hardly any near the roots either.

Shiny Hair?

You probably arent using it right..

Shiny Hair?

anytime your hair grts greasy from product means you used too much... usually with shine products you only put about a dime size amount in your palm and workk it through damp hair that way... good luck and i hope this helps!

Cats: does applying hemorrhoid cream to skin stimulate hair regrowth?

Cat losing hair on stomach. Also has lost hair around neck from collar use; will not grow back in. Someone told me hemorrhoid cream will stimulate re-growth but I'm skeptical and worried if he ingests it.

Cats: does applying hemorrhoid cream to skin stimulate hair regrowth?

Hi there...generally, the hair growth will return on it's own over a long period of time. Hemorrhoid cream is toxic to cats and when they groom themselves they will ingest this.

Cats: does applying hemorrhoid cream to skin stimulate hair regrowth?

I would definitely NOT do that. Your cat WILL ingest it because he will lick it and try to get it all off. That is the weirdest thing that I've ever heard.

On a side note, I've never heard anything about that being a side effect from using the cream where it is intended to be used. That would just be gross and I doubt anyone would use it for hemorrhoids if growing hair there was the end result.

Cats: does applying hemorrhoid cream to skin stimulate hair regrowth?

I certainly would NOT use that cream, until I checked w/vet, and told him what the ingredients were. SO MANY products that are made for humans are toxic to (will kill) cats! So, why take the chance? The reason your cat is losing the hair is probably some kind of stress. When stressed, cats will LICK their hair off in spots, til that area is bald. As for the hair loss from the collar, I have 3 cats who have no hair there, for the same reason. But, it doesn't hurt anything, and gradually the other hair will cover the area, where it's hardly noticable. So, I wouldn't worry about the hair loss, and I sure wouldn't put hemorroid cream on him. If he licks his skin til it's raw, it IS ok to put Neosporin on it....that won't hurt him. Good luck, hope this helps.

Cats: does applying hemorrhoid cream to skin stimulate hair regrowth?

DO NOT USE THIS CREAM ON YOUR CAT!!!!!!!!!

Plerase check with your vet as there may be a medical reason why this is happening or it may be nothing to worry about.

But do not use human medicines on your cat. Also the very idea sounds ridiculous!!

Cats: does applying hemorrhoid cream to skin stimulate hair regrowth?

Toxic. I believe it also states on the side of the box that even humans can't take it 'internally'. That says volumes.

Go with a good diet, proper nutrition gives the skin all it needs in the way of regeneration.

Hi my mom is 31 and shes loosing her hair do u know any hair products thet will make her hair grow b

Hi my mom is 31 and shes loosing her hair do u know any hair products thet will make her hair grow back?

I've tried many many different things, then I took a look at one main thing... My shampoo and conditioner. I switched to head and shoulders and its been about 2 weeks now and I went from loosing a brush full a day to maybe a couple of strands. It may have something to do with what she is using. Not sure.

Hi my mom is 31 and shes loosing her hair do u know any hair products thet will make her hair grow back?

Kelp

Hi my mom is 31 and shes loosing her hair do u know any hair products thet will make her hair grow back?

A better question is why is she losing her hair? Have her doctors checked her thyroid? Having either hyper or hypo thyroid will make your hair fall out. Thyroid problems are common and treatable with the proper medication, and her hair will return on it's own. But she should find a doctor who will look at both her T3 AND T4 levels, not just the T3's.

Hi my mom is 31 and shes loosing her hair do u know any hair products thet will make her hair grow back?

The first thing to try is Rogaine for women. It is at stores. I would also tell your mom to not style her hair with curlers or such as the heat can damage the hair. Don't use a hairdryer or get a perm either. The chemical processing ruins the hair. I also would talk to a hairdresser and see if there is something they know of to do. I am sorry to hear that is happening especially at such a younger age. I would talk to another health person such as a nutritionist to help in this also. There has to be a cause for this and treating that is key to improving the hair shaft to help the hair regrow. There are vitamins for hair, skin and nails (combined) have her try those. Jello is with collagen and can help to improve things like nail hardness and growth . Maybe for the hair too?

Hi my mom is 31 and shes loosing her hair do u know any hair products thet will make her hair grow back?

well there is a meds in propecia is for mens but work also in womens check the info about it

Hi my mom is 31 and shes loosing her hair do u know any hair products thet will make her hair grow back?

Vitamins B, C, F, zinc, iron, copper and protein are essential for hair growth. Drinking plenty of water and eating plenty of raw fruits and vegetables is probably the best way to achieving healthy hair.Try http://solutionsforhairgrowth.blogspot.c... for more details.

Hi my mom is 31 and shes loosing her hair do u know any hair products thet will make her hair grow back?

there can be two reasons for that (she is too young to blame it on age) - not eating enough (less than 2000cal/day) and stress.

My 17 year old niece is losing her hair. Any one have an idea on how to stop this?

My niece spent two months of her summer in the hospital and a part of that on life support. She had a bowel blockage, went into septic shock and ended up on life support with acute respiratory distress syndrom. They gave her a 2% chance to survive and she made it. Now her hair is coming out in handfuls. Any ideas to stop this?

My 17 year old niece is losing her hair. Any one have an idea on how to stop this?

I would advise to work closely with her doctors to be sure there is not another health reason for the hair loss.

My experience has been that stress plays a large roll in hair loss and DIET. Her age group tends to think they are invincible and they do not get a good balance of fruits and veggies. Try to upgrade her nutritional balance. I take a great whole food supplement www.juiceplus.com/+Lb53116 and would swear by it.

Lots of luck.

Has anyone ever experienced hair loss from taking Accutane (acne medication)?

I took Accutane for about five months. After I was taken off the drug, I started losing hair. I'm talking a fairly large amount of hair loss. I'm not bald, but there has been a significant amount of hair going down the drain during my showers. Has anyone else ever experienced this? What did you do about it?

Has anyone ever experienced hair loss from taking Accutane (acne medication)?

I had a friend that this happened to. Almost the exact same scenario as you.

She tried a Chinese herb called Shou wu wihc grows hair and turns grey hair black apparently and Provillus a natural vitamin and mineral formula. Worked a treat for her. The chinese herb may be hard to find, but Provillus is easy to get.

You can read about both of them at this site:

It has a lot of great info and a ton of links to check out that will give you the answers you are looking for.

Try not to worry. It will grow back. Good luck

Has anyone ever experienced hair loss from taking Accutane (acne medication)?

Accutane and Birth Control

In order receive a prescription for accutane you must take a pregnancy test with negative results before a Doctor can authorize use of the drug. You will also be required to take a second pregnancy test during the first 5 days of the menstrual period before you begin to take accutane.

New legislation also requires that any fertile female on accutane must use two forms of birth control, including the pill, during the course of the treatment. These precautions must be taken for one month before accutane treatment commences, and at least one month after treatment is terminated.

Accutane Pregnancy

In addition to these precautions you will also be requested to take monthly pregnancy tests for the duration of the accutane treatment program. Your doctor will can provide you with information on the best methods of birth control and how to use them should you decide to proceed with the treatment. Failure to adhere to these strict regulations seriously places you at risk of becoming pregnant and suffering from the trauma that thousands of other women have had to face. If you become pregnant, miss a menstrual cycle while using accutane it is recommended that you immediately stop taking Accutane and notify your doctor.

Contagious hair loss??

I am 26 and for about 1yr have been losing hair all over. I first noticed a younger relative having this problem and suggested she be checked thinking it may have been her birth control. Now my daughter and mother in law are also having this prblem. I remember having an extremely itchy scalp at first. I blew it off as just being my nerves. Now my scalp is still mildly itchy and slightly pink in areas nothing real noticable daughter is the same. Noticed small sores were my daughter and mother in law have been scratching I believe...any ideas?!?!?! I have beento the dermatologist only did blood test and gave me proscar to help hair regrow. Again this is all over hair loss and no patches that i know of. Also I am tired a lot and have episodes of light headedness. My mother in law shares these other symptoms also. Stressed about what is going on have been checked for thyroid....please help!!!

Contagious hair loss??

you are old. that is what happens when you get old, you lose your hair.

call that hairclub for men. you'd fit the bill perfectly there. You're a man, right?

Contagious hair loss??

You might want to look into something called Fungus Infection (Ringworm) of the scalp - Caused by a fungus infection, ringworm (which has nothing to do with worms) begins with small patches of scaling that can spread and result in broken hair, redness, swelling, and even oozing. This contagious disease is most common in children and oral medication will cure it. I did a little research for you and the only thing I found that fit your symptoms is this. Follow the link I have posted below I hope that this information helps. Good luck to you and your family I wish you all the best!

Does rogaine prevent hair loss?

I started losing my hair maybe half a year ago and I'm 18 1/2 years old. I just bought 3 months worth of 2% rogaine (women's) to try first. I'm wondering if rogaine actually prevents baldness or is just meant to re-grow lost hair. Right now, mine is just a thinning patch on the crown area.

Does rogaine prevent hair loss?

Just stop being tricked into thinking hair loss can be cured. Look around you and find the famous men in history who are bald, and the famous who have hair implants.

Does rogaine prevent hair loss?

it doesn't work

Does rogaine prevent hair loss?

from my understanding it does help hair loss , being the smallest molecule and it can penetrate the skin other liquids just lay on top (THATS WHAT I HEARD)

Can I safely dye my hair?

My mother bleached it with kalidescope w/ 40 vol developer. Now my hair is orangy at the top and almost white at the bottom. It feels like straw and has no elasticity. I have tried hot oil treatments and this packet of conditioner called Ion that the beauty supply store said would help but it still feels horrible. When we rinsed the bleach out some hair came out also but i am not sure if this is from damage since i have been losing hair recently. I want to dye my hair red with hydrience 2 RR Scarlet Shimmer. I am worried that my hair will fall out if i do this. Any advice?

Can I safely dye my hair?

Salons are places where professionals will deal with any mess they or you might make. What I suggest is to remember not to use 40 volume anymore, or to leave it in for a shorter amount of time. What happened to your hair is the cuticles were lifted and the melanin protein in your hair was removed. It is common to have really unhealthy hair afterwards, there is no way around it. Dyeing your hair afterwards should be safe (as every single semi-permanent dye suggests bleaching and every guide to dyeing does as well) as long as you be careful with it. Be sure to include a lot of heavy conditioner in your shower routine for the next few months, just in case. Good Luck!

Can I safely dye my hair?

Go to a SALON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You should never never bleach your hair !!!!!!! Take care of your hair....

Can I safely dye my hair?

After the bleach application wait at least 48 hours and sleep in conditioner. Buy infusium leave in conditioner and wear during day. Wear a ponytail if you have to school etc..I would not put Hydrience on it most likely it will grab the base color and you could end up looking like a carrot red head, with black ends or fire engine red. Go to the drug store and get a Natural Instincts in a light neutral or natural blonde. Apply to roots for full 10 minutes than pull through the rest of the hair for about 3 minutes. Rinse hair til water is clean and put conditioner that is in the package and leave on for the recommended time. Now is NOT the time to go red.

Can I safely dye my hair?

Bleaching your hair is never good for your hair, coloring it is bad enough but bleaching is worse, and doing it with bleach that isn't for your hair is well... I wont go on. Go in and have someone actually look at it. Getting something from a supply store isn't the best eaither because most of those people just read it off the bottle anyway, you need someone to actually look at it.

Can I safely dye my hair?

Ion conditioner never helped my hair. The ONLY way you can safely dye your hair in this condition is to use a SEMI-permanent hair dye. This means there is no ammonia, no peroxide, just pigment and conditioners.

Go get some good conditioner (a hair "mask") and put it on your hair, rap it in a towel and leave it over night. In the morning rinse it out. Your hair should feel a little better. Do it weekly and see how it goes.

How to stop hair fall ???

thats bout it , never had any hair problems ever , then suddenly i have started losing hair , it just falls even if i rub my fingers thru it ........................i loose abt 4-7 hairs if i rub my hand thru my hair !!!

pls help

How to stop hair fall ???

its summer so you are probably 'shedding'. a lot of animals do it during summer- and humans do too. Or if you use a creamy shampoo and conditioner- it is getting into your hair follicles and damaging it do it cant grow properly. Use a clarifying, rinse clean shampoo and conditioner to help your hair stay healthy.

How to stop hair fall ???

its natural that you lose about 100 strands a day soo...... but if you lose more than 100 a day then it might be stress

How to stop hair fall ???

I dont know whether you would like to try this but I have been trying this since more than 10 years ago. Most probably the reason its fall because of heat.

If you can find coconut milk ... its would be better. Yes...it is correct its smell bad.

I apply this coconut milk twice a month. Usually i apply during weekend while mostly during cleening house or doing something else alone.

Just take very small portion and apply through the whole hair. After that wrap it.. with shower cap also ok.

Then, u may start to do ur personal things .. and after 30 mins or 20mins you can go to shower and wash ur hair as usuall.

But u must remember coconut milk when apply to hair... will not smell good.

How to stop hair fall ???

You do not say if you are male or female and you do not give your age. Check photos of your ancestors for pattern balding and to determine at what age it can start. Have you started taking any medication that has hair-loss as a contra-indication? Are you experiencing stress - emotional, physical, chemcal or environmental? Ask your hairdresser what is normal. Check with your doctor if the condition continues beyond one season.
